A short brass floor before a treasury door. Most of the plates are wired to dart holes.
Sixteen brass plates, green with age, cover the floor between the stair and the treasury door. Tiny holes pepper the walls at knee height. The plates are laid out fresh for every visitor, so there is no worn path to follow, only care and a keen eye.
The first plate gives a little underfoot with a soft, oiled click.
