Salvaged from a wreck and furred green with verdigris, the captain's safe still holds whatever he thought was worth dying for. Its four-number dial is stiff, and its wheel pack makes no sound you can hear without pressing an ear to the door.
Green corrosion crusts the dial, but it still turns.
