MSRP Merchant's Sorcerous Rarities Pricelist (current printing)

SANE Sane Magic Item Prices

Introduction

Using this price list

Merchant’s Sourcerous Rarities provides relative values for magic items so a Dungeon Master can maintain a coherent campaign economy and quickly estimate treasure. A world does not need to sell every listed item, and the values are intended as guidance rather than canonical prices.

How MSRP prices are calculated

Each item is compared with similarly capable items. The common-market value is the ordinary reference price; the rare-market value is usually 1.5 times that amount and provides an upper bound when the item is scarce.

Other columns in the source document

The source document also compares Dungeon Master’s Guide rarity pricing, Xanathar’s Guide asking-price ranges, and Sane Magic Item Prices. Bookwyrm associates those values with their respective source compendiums, while this compendium owns the MSRP common and rare values.
